Dell Streak price falls to $400 in the US, ships on 11 Jan

The price of the 5-inch Android-powered tablet Dell Streak in the US has just been seriously reduced. Froyo-loving Android-junkies can now purchase it without signing any contracts for as low as $400.

This is $180 lower than what Dell USA were previously charging for the 16GB version of the SIM-free Dell Streak. The bad news is shipping will take quite some time: the cheap Streaks won’t be knocking on your door until 11 January 2011.

Interestingly, the 16GB version of the thing will arrive with the Android 1.6 a.k.a. Donut on board, but getting rid of it is as easy as pie thanks to the available update to update to Android 2.2 a.k.a. Froyo which comes Over-the-Air.

As for the 500-dollar 32GB version of the 5-incher, it will be serving Froyo out of the box.

As our review revealed, the Dell Streak isn’t the ultimate Android-driven tablet or smartphone out there, but with the Froyo update that followed shortly after that and the new, lower price it seems like a much better deal.

Apple iTunes 10.1.1 Update Causes Problems for Some Users

Apple had good intentions when it released iTunes 10.1.1 yesterday, an update to iTunes 10.1 that was meant to correct some minor bugs.

But downloading the update via iTunes automatic software update created more problems for some. Last night many reported problems such as being unable to open iTunes altogether, losing their library, and crashes.

discussion over at Apple’s support forum shows that Apple is aware of the problem. An Apple engineer by the screnname “Roy B” asked members to send in system details last night.

For now, the most common alternative PCMag also tried is to download the 90.5 MB update directly through Apple’s Web site rather than the automatic software updater.

According to Apple’s description of the software update, version 10.1.1 fixes several bugs: an issue where some music videos may not play on Macs equipped with Nvidia GeForce 9400 or 9600 graphics; an issue where iTunes may unexpectedly quit when deleting a playlist showing the iTunes Sidebar; unexpectedly quitting when connecting an iPod to a Mac running a PowerPC processor; and problems with music videos not syncing to your Apple mobile device.

Apple released iTunes 10.1 in November with minor additions, like the ability to sync and stream content to Apple TV, and some stability and performance improvements. Since then Apple added the long-sought after Beatles library and extended select song previews to 90 seconds.

Apple was unavailable to comment at press time.

Jailbreak & unlock iPhone 3G/3Gs/3.1.3 with the latest software

Majority of the iPhone users complain about the restrictions put in place by Apple Inc. on the iPhone. However this is a workaround. 3G, 3GS and 2G iPhone can be fully unlocked. 3GS, 3G iPhone up to 3.1.2 version that includes the 05.11.Baseband and all versions of 2G iPhone including 3.1.3 can be unlocked in minutes.

iPhone unlock solution works with networks such as Orange, Telefonica, O2, T-Mobile, AT&T, Telstra, TIM, Vodafone and many more. Once jailbreaked, Cydia software is installed that works similar to iPhone Appstore except that all applications are free of cost.
Most iPhones are locked to a particular network and users are forced to use the same even if they are not satisfied with the services. If you are from the US, iPhone’s are locked to work with AT&T carrier.
Unlocking is a simple process that actually removes this restriction, after which you can use any SIM card from any other networks.
Jailbreak on the other hand is a process that bi-pass the ‘download from Apple Store restriction’. Without Jailbreaking iPhone user would have to get /download applications from Apple Store only. With Jailbreaking the entire iPhone file system is exposed there by allowing users to install the latest free ringtones, games, etc.
The Jailbreak and Unlock software from comes with lifetime updates and support.
Apple constantly keeps improving and updating the iPhone software if your iPhone is unlocked and you update your phone in most cases the phone gets re-locked. But not to worry with lifetime free updates you will soon be able to unlock the iPhone at the same time keep it updated with the latest software from Apple Inc.

White iPhone 4 Update – White iPhone 4 Not Expected Until August?

The white iPhone 4 might not be available until August, according to a customer who visited a Best Buy to pre order an iPhone 4.

The white iPhone 4 has been causing quite a bit of controversy since yesterday when the pre order launched for the iPhone 4. Nobody knew that the white iPhone 4 was not going to be available prior to yesterday. The new broke Monday night just prior to midnight and official launch of the iPhone 4 pre order. And then Apple confirmed it again when they launched their iPhone 4 online store where it stated that the iPhone 4 would not be available for pre order.

White iPhone 4 Not Available Until August

Someone posted a comment here at Social Media SEO stating that he just left a Best Buy store after pre ordering his iPhone 4, and he said that the rep at Best Buy said the white iPhone 4 will be available until August.

And I just realized that this report isn’t really any different than the previously reported time frame of “later this summer”. August is definitely later this summer!

So does anyone have any additional info regarding the white iPhone 4?
